WHO

Vertu Motors has grown to become a top 5 Automotive Retail Group in the UK, recently expanding its dealership network to over 180 sites across the UK. 

This includes 3 distinct national brands: Bristol Street Motors, Macklin Motors and Vertu Motors

The business consistently utilises radio advertising as a major part of its media mix.

WHAT

As part of Vertu’s growth strategy and determination to further solidify their brand’s reputation, we were asked to consider a new audio brand for Bristol Street Motors/Macklin Motors. 

The brief required us to deliver a solution that captured the brand’s essence, with a strong and consistent sound that would take advantage of their frequency on air. It also needed to complement and not overpower their voiceover messaging, so simplicity was key. 

WHY

Our thoughts quickly turned to music - it was going to be all about a super-strong hook! 

We considered use of both a bespoke composition and a well-known licensed piece of music. 

The latter seemed the natural way to progress to deliver an instantly memorable hook and hit the ground running on air. With that in mind, we created an ‘ideas pool’ of suitable tracks, then refined and focused these down with the client to a shortlist of the most relevant. There was one stand-out track that perfectly fitted the bill with a super-positive, memorable and mainstream sound! 

We worked with the record companies to bring the licence in on budget and worked the re-recording magic in our studios.
