Kathryn explains why you should never underestimate this well-known saying.
“What do you want for Christmas?”
A question I typically hear around the latter part of the year.
“Um… a pressure washer.”
Not the most glamorous of presents, granted, but it’s something I’d been wanting for a while, so last Christmas, I thought why not get one as a gift?
Fast forward a few months and I’m hooking it up to my kitchen tap (I don’t have an outdoor one) with a hose adapter…. but wait… let’s rewind a little to when I was in a hardware store looking for said adapter for my swan neck tap:
“You need that one.”
Why thank you fellow customer, proudly standing next to me pointing to a particular connector, (the one where you turn the key to tighten it). Most helpful.

Anyway, back to the ‘present’ - after wrestling the adapter onto the tap, turning the key to the point where it could turn no more, and sticking the hose pipe out of the window - there I am happily spraying the dirt and grime off my car with my new pressure washer.
That is until I hear a clunk and see the water from the end of the nozzle starting to taper away.
Yep, you’ve guessed it. The adapter has fallen off resulting in a stream of water gushing from the tap. No, not into the sink. Onto the bench (the tap is turned towards the window) and onto the kitchen floor, and since my home is open plan, into the living room. Fantastic!
Once I’ve mopped up the subsequent river with every towel I can find, I try three more times to get the adapter to work. All three a failure. As a result, I end up cleaning my car with a good old bucket and sponge.
You’ll be happy to know that since then I’ve invested in a threaded connecter that actually screws onto the tap and refuses to budge. So, thanks to finally having the ‘right tool for the job’, I now only wash my car and not my entire house… which is pretty much the moral of the story.
Make sure you have the right tool for the job, and get advice from experts, not just the ‘helpful’ fellow who happens to be on hand when needing assistance.
And that’s exactly what we are at Get Carter Productions.
(Experts that is, not just helpful fellows. And for audio advertising, not tap adapters.)
We know exactly what audio strategy your brand will need to make it stand out in the marketplace and we have the right tools to do it. So, when it comes to your audio advertising, consider asking us, the audio specialists for advice, if you don’t, you may just end up with a ‘flooded kitchen’.
