Purple Pinkie Swear

I’ve been working here for a month now, and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made.

It’s coming to the end of my first month here at Get Carter Productions and it’s safe to say I’ve learnt a hell of a lot already.

If I’m completely honest, I didn’t have a clue who Get Carter Productions were, I didn’t have a clue about radio advertising, and I had no idea that my job role was even a possible job role before I applied.

But as soon as I saw the advert on Indeed, I laughed (it was very vague and comical) and thought ‘they seem pretty cool – let’s check them out’ and it basically went from there. I was over the moon when I got the chance to go for an interview, and for the first time ever it was one where I felt like my age or experience (lack of) didn’t hinder me at all.

They spoke to me like an adult, and they respected and took on board my ideas and opinions. I left the meeting feeling extremely positive about myself - I didn’t know if I would necessarily get the job, but the whole experience itself was positive and that was an amazing feeling.

Fast forward about a week, I’m sitting in the living room with my dad and I get a phone call. My dad can see the nerves and excitement on my face and he starts gesturing and motioning trying to listen to what’s being said. I was offered the position (obviously) and I think my response was along the lines of ‘Really?!’

I was over the moon.

My dad made us gin and tonics. He was over the moon too.

In these four short weeks I have spent time with some of the most talented creatives I’ve ever met in my entire life. They’re all absolutely mental and swear worse than sailors, but they are so passionate and dedicated to their work.

On every social media post, on every marketing item we have #webelieveinradio on it, why? Because, these guys truly believe in the work that they do, and the power of radio advertising.

It’s what they call the Get Carter Productions ‘purple cow’. That’s the ingrained values and beliefs of the amazing team behind all the smoke and mirrors and big green curtains. These people are genius, they can create radio ads and generate ideas quicker than I can even click my sparkly shoes (genuinely – my shoes legit sparkle) and it’s absolutely amazing to be a part of this team.

If you need a radio ad – come to these guys, I promise you, it’ll be the best decision you ever make. I’ll even Pinkie Swear.
