Couldn’t we all be just a little bit happier?
Generally, I am a pretty satisfied person.
Of course, I’d like to live in an ever so slightly bigger house, a bit closer to a tropical beach, with a multimillion-pound lottery win to support my extravagant playboy lifestyle.
I have had a good life and had some experiences other people can only dream of.
I have made friends from all around the world. And friends who have stood by me for decades and helped me when I needed it!
I have a beautiful wife and two great kids.
But I am NOT satisfied with my coffee.
No.
The instant coffee that Get Carter Productions provides is OK. If someone was to phone up and say, “We’d like to supply your coffee” we’d probably say “We’re happy with our existing supplier”.
I’m not.
I went to Cake Stories. A small coffee shop in Jesmond, Newcastle. There I had the best coffee I’ve ever had. Rich, packed with flavour, served by friendly smiling people, and best of all it came with the richest calorie-packed cake you could imagine. On a sunny day, you can sit outside and watch the world go by.
When we talk to potential clients on the phone they sometimes tell us “we’re happy with our agency”. How do they know they’re happy? How do they know they couldn’t be just a little bit or a whole heap happier? I just wish I could take them by the hand and lead them to a place where they will never be satisfied with freeze-dried instant creative ever again… and could taste the fresh ground, expertly blended creative from expert barista trained copywriters and producers.
