With Chinese New Year just around the corner, we have some amazing news!

Wow.

What a start to the year – we are now Patrons of the Radio Academy.

We are all extremely excited and justifiably proud that we have entered the club. The Radio Academy has some very exciting plans for 2018 and those are just the ones we know about – we are looking forward to working with them and helping in the fulfilment of them.

As per Roger’s quote in the Press Release (see below) ‘we are part of the creative radio talent based outside of the M25’…280 odd miles outside of it to be more precise. This proves to be a huge bonus for many of our clients who combine studio visits with a trip to the Northumberland coast or to see the dark skies of the National park.

However, some people may want to deal with us in that there London – great news we are looking at London offices.

To that end we are going to need a bigger team – yep you guessed it – look out for recruitment ads.

To say that we are excited – is a tad of an understatement.

2018 is indeed the Year of the Dog – and this dog is coming to get you…

“PRESS RELEASE - January 22, 2018

THE RADIO ACADEMY SIGNS UP TWO NEW PATRON MEMBERS

Get Carter Productions, one of the UK’s leading, independent, audio production companies and Radio Lollipop, a children’s charity providing play and entertainment to children in hospitals, are both to become patron members of The Radio Academy.

Patron membership of The Radio Academy, a community of people with a love and passion for all things audio alongside a mission to help, support, inform, connect and celebrate them, offers a unique opportunity for businesses to support practitioners and extend contacts within the industry.

North East based Get Carter Productions and the international service, Radio Lollipop, will complement the existing line-up of Radio Academy patrons, with Get Carter Productions bringing its knowledge and expertise in commercial production. The new signings helping the Academy to broaden its resources, remit and pool of knowledge to members.

Roger Cutsforth, Chief Executive of The Radio Academy said: “Signing up these new patrons marks a critical step in recognising the often hidden, but invaluable, radio expertise being created every day.

“Get Carter Productions hosted a very popular session at Segue last year and we’re looking to build on that to develop further opportunities to showcase the wonderful, creative radio talent based outside the M25 and outside of programming departments.

Get Carter Productions contributes to the weekly commercial output of most of the national, regional and local stations across the UK and Ireland. Formed and run by some of the most experienced creatives from Independent Local Radio, they provide a complete brief-to-broadcast resource for agency and direct clients from their studio complex in the North East.

Matthew Bromham, Managing Director of Get Carter Productions commented: “The Radio Academy has become such a great resource for the industry and we’re honoured to lend our support to what they’ve set out to achieve. We see so many of our core values in what they do and I hope that our involvement helps to highlight some of the massive potential this wonderful medium still has.”
